Cannon School respects and is committed to protecting the privacy of students, parents, faculty and staff, and members of the public who visit this web site. It is Cannon School’s policy to take reasonable steps to respect the privacy of users regarding any personally identifiable information Cannon School may collect while operating this site. The purpose of this policy is to inform users of Cannon School’s policies concerning privacy and its practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of personally identifiable information that users may provide while using public or private (password protected) areas of this site.   

For purposed of this Privacy Policy, (i) the terms “we,” “us,” of “our” refer to Cannon School and (ii) the terms “you,” “your” or “yourself” refer to the user who is using this website.

Cannon School may share alumni personally identifiable information with other alumni for purposes related to alumni activities and fundraising activities.  If you request us to do so, we will disclose personally identifiable information about you as requested or directed by you. 

Cannon School also reserves the right to disclose personally identifiable information for the purposes stated below:

  • To comply with legal processes such as search warrants, subpoenas or court orders;
  • To investigate and/or report potential illegal activities or comply with all applicable regional, state or federal laws;
  • To protect the School’s rights and property or defend against legal claims;
  • To protect against misuse of unauthorized use of our online services; or
  • During emergencies, such as when we believe someone’s safety is at risk


Cannon School will take reasonable steps to update or correct your personally identifiable information. Some information can be updated by you if you have an account granting you access to the private areas of our site. You can also contact us calling 704-786-8171 ext. 240 to request updates to your information. 


The security of your personal information is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
