Cannon's Upper School Winterm 2018 experience is scheduled for Tuesday, January 2 through Friday, January 5, 2018
. Winterm is an opportunity for our students and faculty to come together in a non-traditional learning environment, with on-campus and off-campus course offerings, as well as domestic and international travel experiences designed around a love of learning and a passion for knowledge without the pressures and constraints of grades and assessment.
Cannon's Upper School faculty and staff, as well as several special guests including members of our administration, a parent, and two of our own Cannon seniors have been working hard to create courses and experiences based upon their passions that will interest, engage and inspire our student body. Students are encouraged to sign up for courses that follow their own passions or explore courses that will challenge and stretch them in ways the formal curriculum cannot. Our experience has shown that Winterm creates an energy in the Cannon Upper School unmatched at any other time in the school calendar and lasts well into the spring semester!
Beginning last year, Cannon will be issuing credit for Winterm on all student transcripts. This will be a participation credit, a ¼ credit per year in Cannon’s Upper School, for satisfactory completion of the student’s Winterm experience. Students will need to be present for the entire Winterm experience to receive the credit. There will be no grade associated with the credit, and it will not be calculated into a student’s GPA.The Winterm 2018 Course Catalog and Registration Form are available below. Course registration will be taking place on Monday, November 13 through Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Students need to hand their course registration forms directly to Mr. Campbell.
