Full Time – Lower School Third Grade Teacher
The Lower School teacher at Cannon School, provides a safe, nurturing environment for students in their classroom utilizing the school’s instructional program. The teacher works to create meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences in order to continue to build strong foundational skills for lifelong learning.

Head Coach – Girls Varsity Basketball
Cannon School is searching for a Head Coach for its varsity girls basketball program.  The successful candidate is expected to have head coaching experience and a demonstrated success at leading high school athletes to participate with intensity, character, courage, commitment, and excellent sportsmanship.  Cannon School competes in the CISAA conference, which is part of the NCISAA organization.  The successful applicant is expected to start immediately and take over the organization of summer skill workouts with the players.  Cannon has a full-time Head Strength and Conditioning Coach who works closely with the coaching staff year-round including a comprehensive summer program.  A bachelor’s degree is required for the position.  Inquiries can be made to the Director of Athletics, Patrick Moyer at pmoyer@cannonschool.org.  Applications must include a resume and a brief program mission statement that includes coaching philosophy.
 
Full Time - Executive Assistant
Cannon School seeks an Executive Assistant to support and work with the Head of School. The position requires personal integrity because the Executive Assistant will handle confidential information connected to the institution and individuals. The position requires a strong and consistent work ethic because the office serves the entire school – students, faculty, staff, families, and Board of Trustees. The position requires a capacity to relate to and work with individuals who will enter the office with the widest range of needs and requests.

Upper School – English Teacher
Cannon school is currently seeking candidates for the 2017-2018 school year. The Upper School English Dept. at Cannon School is looking for candidates with experience teaching a variety of writing and literature courses at various high school grade levels. Ideal candidates will have a wide exposure to literature both inside and outside of the traditional literary canon.  Having the willingness to create and teach a range of other high school English courses is important as well. The Upper School teacher at Cannon School, provides a safe, nurturing environment for students utilizing the school’s instructional program.  The teacher works to create meaningful, engaging developmentally appropriate learning experiences in order to build strong foundational skills for lifelong learning.
 
Part Time – Cougars’ Den Manager
Cannon School currently has a part time Manager position available for our Cougars’ Den (school store) beginning in May/June 2017. This position is responsible for managing all store operations including inventory, supervision of sales staff, POS system management and all financial accounting. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Retail Management/supervision and buying/purchasing. Please see job description for more details.
 
Part Time – Upper School Theatre Teacher
Cannon School is currently seeking candidates for the 2017-2018 school year. The Upper School Theatre Teacher will teach two theater classes and oversee design, set, lights, costumes, and props for all productions. As a teacher at Cannon School the ideal candidate will provide a safe, nurturing environment for students in their classroom utilizing the school’s instructional program. The teacher works to create meaningful, engaging developmentally appropriate learning experiences in order to continue to build strong foundational skills for lifelong learning. The Technical Theater teacher reports to the Head of Upper School and is under the direction of the Director of Theater Arts.
 
Lower School - Kindergarten Teacher
We are currently seeking candidates for the 2017-2018 school year. The Kindergarten teacher will create a nurturing, safe environment for our young children, providing instruction in reading, math and handwriting. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Kindergarten classroom, a strong knowledge of child development, knowledge of differentiation and inquiry-based learning, a natural aptitude for cultivating positive relationships with students and families, and will also be flexible, collaborative, a team player, a lifelong learner, and possess a true love, as well as passion for young children and their educational success. This candidate will also possess the qualities inherent in our core values of courage, teamwork, respect, integrity, passion and kindness.
 
Education/Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or a related educational field. At least 2 years’ experience in an elementary classroom.
 
Bus Driver
We are currently seeking candidates for our Transportation Department. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL license with a P&S endorsement, prior driving experience, will be flexible, a team player and enjoy working with children. This candidate will also possess the qualities inherent in our core values of courage, teamwork, respect, integrity, passion and kindness.
