Lower School - Kindergarten Teacher
We are currently seeking candidates for the 2017-2018 school year. The Kindergarten teacher will create a nurturing, safe environment for our young children, providing instruction in reading, math and handwriting. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Kindergarten classroom, a strong knowledge of child development, knowledge of differentiation and inquiry-based learning, a natural aptitude for cultivating positive relationships with students and families, and will also be flexible, collaborative, a team player, a lifelong learner, and possess a true love, as well as passion for young children and their educational success. This candidate will also possess the qualities inherent in our core values of courage, teamwork, respect, integrity, passion and kindness.
 
Education/Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or a related educational field. At least 2 years’ experience in an elementary classroom.
 
Lower School - Third Grade Teacher
We are currently seeking candidates for the 2017-2018 school year. The third grade teacher will instruct students in reading and reading strategies, writing, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, math, and social studies, while creating a positive, engaging and nurturing environment for learning. Upper School – Math Teacher
Cannon School is currently seeking candidates for the 2017-2018 school year in the Upper School Math Department. The Math teacher will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing environment for students utilizing the schools instructional program. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II with Trigonometry in addition to a willingness to teach a range of other High School Math courses.
 
Education/Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree is required, Masters preferred. At least 2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
 
School Nurse Substitute
Cannon School has an immediate need for a Substitute School Nurse. This position is on an as needed basis and will work to assist the full time School Health Nurse with all school nursing functions. The nurse will be responsible for providing direct care to students and staff/faculty members for injuries and acute illnesses.   Responsibilities include (but not limited to) assessment and treatment within the scope of professional nursing practice, communication with parents/faculty/staff, referral to physicians, and supervision of prescribed nursing care. 3-5 years of nursing experience is required, preferable pediatric with a current RN NC Licensure.

 
Bus Driver
We are currently seeking candidates for our Transportation Department. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL license with a P&S endorsement, prior driving experience, will be flexible, a team player and enjoy working with children. This candidate will also possess the qualities inherent in our core values of courage, teamwork, respect, integrity, passion and kindness.
