Senior Night Celebrates Class of 2026

On the evening before Commencement, the Cannon School community gathered for one of its most meaningful traditions: Senior Night. During this heartfelt celebration, faculty, friends, and leadership honored members of the Class of 2026 for their achievements in academics, athletics, the arts, and character.

The evening was emceed by members of the Class of 2026, Canon Diana and Avery Fawcett, who guided the community through a memorable program filled with reflection, recognition, and gratitude. Dr. Fabio Hurtado, Head of Upper School, opened the ceremony with remarks celebrating the accomplishments and growth of the senior class.

Throughout the evening, students were recognized for excellence across a wide range of disciplines and contributions to the Cannon community.

The evening also featured several meaningful reflections and performances that celebrated the spirit of the senior class. Senior Bri Cagnina reflected on the ordinary moments that became deeply meaningful over time, sharing how those experiences transformed classmates into lifelong friends and created a true sense of belonging during a formative chapter of life. Charlie Bragg performed a song on guitar and vocals, while Athena Zo delivered a dance performance later in the program. Upper School social studies teacher Nate Fisher offered the faculty reflection, speaking about how Cannon helped students become their truest selves and encouraging graduates to engage openly with people and perspectives different from their own. Shuvani Regmi then offered a heartfelt charge to the Class of 2026, encouraging students to “go do great things.”

A touching performance of “Stand by Me” by Averi Hedgepeth provided another memorable moment of the evening. She also reflected on Dr. Hurtado, Cannon’s departing Head of Upper School, sharing gratitude for the impact he made on students and for helping cultivate her passion for philosophy. As Dr. Hurtado shared in his reflections, “It’s been an honor to pen this chapter with you.”

While Senior Night recognized extraordinary accomplishments, it also served as a reminder of the relationships, experiences, and shared moments that define a Cannon education. Congratulations to all members of the Class of 2026! The Cannon community is proud of each and every one of you.
