Cannon School Announces A Flourishing Future Capital Campaign

Cannon School announced today the public launch of A Flourishing Future, a capital campaign aimed at enhancing the learning environment to support the academic success and growth of all students. Aligned with the school’s mission and Campus Master Plan, this initiative focuses on transforming the Upper School while also strengthening academic support services across all grade levels, from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. 

At the heart of A Flourishing Future is the expansion and renovation of the Upper School. The project includes a 12,500 square-foot addition that will introduce cutting-edge, flexible classrooms and modern science laboratories, as well as open student spaces designed to foster collaboration, engagement, and dynamic learning experiences. To ensure comprehensive academic support from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12, the addition of dedicated Academic Resource Centers (ARCs) in the Lower, Middle, and Upper School will cultivate growth, curiosity, confidence, and independent learning. 

“We believe every student should have access to a learning environment that encourages exploration, collaboration, and personal growth,” said Head of School Mike Drew. “With A Flourishing Future, we are enhancing our Upper School facilities and providing students across all divisions with the academic resources and spaces they need to thrive—both academically and personally.” 

Key Features of A Flourishing Future: 

  • 16 Right-Sized Classrooms: New Upper School classrooms, ranging from 700 to 790 square feet, designed for flexible, dynamic learning environments. 

  • 7 Modernized Science Labs: Cutting-edge labs that support hands-on, innovative learning experiences. 

  • 3 Flexible Student Spaces: Dedicated spaces in the Upper School to foster community, creativity, and collaboration among students. 

  • Academic Resource Centers (ARCs): Three ARCs across the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools to provide academic support and promote growth, curiosity, and independent learning at every stage of their academic journey. 

By supporting this campaign, Cannon School is creating an environment where students are equipped to navigate their academic journeys with confidence, curiosity, and resilience. The enhancements made possible by A Flourishing Future will ensure that students have access to resources and spaces that encourage critical thinking, innovation, and academic excellence.

The event will be held on April 5, 2025, from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. This will be a unique opportunity for families and community members to learn more about the campaign’s impact on Cannon School’s future.
