Meet a Cannon Lifer: Ava, Class of 2020
The experience our Lifers have at Cannon is truly special - they spend fourteen years (from JrK - grade 12) in our hallowed hallways! We’re spotlighting several, and today it’s Ava's turn.
Do you have a favorite JrK memory? The Teddy Bear Picnic. I loved bringing in my prized stuffed animal and receiving an award from Mr. Gossage. I felt this caring sense of belonging to the community, my classmates and the entire school.
What is your favorite Cannon School tradition? The Father Daughter Dance. I attended the dance with my dad almost every year. I loved getting glammed up, wearing a beautiful dress I’d picked out, and spending the night dancing with my dad.
How would you describe your Cannon experience in three words? Enriching. Nurturing. Driven.
What’s the most important lesson you learned at Cannon? To be responsible - in my classes by studying and completing homework in order to have success in academics and and holding myself responsible in my relationships with others.
Fun fact: Ava loves organic gardening and cooking and has her own Instagram account about it @avam_kitchen.
What are your plans post-graduation? I will be attending Wake Forest University and don’t know what I want to major in, but know I want to pursue an entrepreneurship minor.
