Program Standards

This document and the philosophy contained within it has been a work in progress for several years.  It started with the development of our Cannon Athletics Mission Statement and then the Core Values were developed through discussions with many of our Cannon Athletics Leadership Counsel members.  Our coaching staff has continued the process by discussing what should be basic, fundamental expectations or Standards of Behavior for Cannon’s coaches, athletes and parents.

These elements work together to help define what is important within Cannon Athletics.  They also provide a set of minimum standards that each constituent group can count on as they move from team to team or season to season.  Coaches are also given the opportunity to work on their own or with their athletes to develop additional standards that will aid in defining their program’s unique culture.

Our hope is that through the sharing and discussing our mission, values, and standards in this way we will highlight many of the essential tenets that exist within the Cannon Athletics Handbook, but in one manageable document.
