Second Grade

Welcome to Second Grade

In second grade, the student is at the core of all that we do. Homerooms have a lead teacher and a full-time assistant. Students are encouraged to take risks and become independent learners. In addition, students work collaboratively in groups to broaden their understanding of the subject at hand. Art, computer, library, music, physical education, and Spanish help to facilitate the development of the whole child.

Miss Maxey has been an amazing teacher through this year. Even though this was our first year at Cannon, she made my son feel that he has been here forever. He adores his teacher and is always enthusiastic about attending school. Thank you for all that you do to make learning fun and safe.

Mrs.  Downs is an amazing teacher. Even throughout this crazy year, she remains such a positive influence on all the students in the class. She will bend over backwards to ensure she reaches every student and makes them feel special.
