  • Middle School Mandarin Chinese Teacher

    The Middle School World Languages Department is currently seeking candidates for a part-time Mandarin Chinese teaching position for the 2020-2021 school year.  Our ideal candidate is a relational and passionate language teacher with several years of experience in teaching both middle-school and high-school students. This position requires native or advanced-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. The candidate must be fluent in English.  Primary duties would involve teaching in the Middle School, with the potential of adding Upper School and advanced level classes in the future.

    The ideal candidate works well in both departmental and grade-level teams, relates well to students, parents, and colleagues, and has a growth mindset. Additional subject-area teaching expertise is of interest, and experience working with standards-based grading would be helpful, but not required.
  • School Nurse - Part Time

    We are seeking candidates for a part time School Nurse to begin immediately. This position will work with the full time nursing staff to provide direct care to students and staff/faculty members for injuries and acute illness and long-term management of students with special health care needs.   Responsibilities include (but not limited to) assessment and treatment within the scope of professional nursing practice, communication with parents/faculty/staff, referral to physicians, developing appropriate nursing care plans for students with chronic conditions, developing emergency action plans to manage potential emergent events in the school setting, student/faculty/staff teaching regarding health issues ( allergies and Epipen use, the care of students with Diabetes etc.) and supervision of prescribed nursing care. The school health nurse provides leadership for the provision of health services including the promotion of a healthy school environment by monitoring immunizations, ensuring appropriate exclusion for infectious illnesses, and reporting communicable diseases as required by law. 
  • Teaching Fellowship

    Cannon School seeks three, full-time teaching fellows for the 2020-2021 school year. One fellow will work in our Lower School (grades JrK-4), one fellow will work in our middle school (grades 5-8), and one fellow will work in our upper school (grades 9-12).The Cannon School Fellow is designed to support the development of future teachers and leaders in education. The Fellowship combines teaching, advising and administrative responsibilities to provide experience in a variety of independent school teaching and leadership roles. This is a 10-month position, beginning on August 13, 2020. Fellows will work closely with a divisional dean and will also be responsible for assisting with leadership of a student activity or program. Upon completion of this one-year program, Fellows will be prepared for a number of career options in independent schools.
  • Event and Video Technology Coordinator

    The Event & Video Technology Coordinator is a member of the technology team for the school.  This position aids faculty, staff and others in facilitating events requiring professional live sound, lighting, and projection equipment for, but not limited to theatrical performances, athletic contests, formal community presentations/meetings, etc…In addition, this person will be responsible for maintaining all professional live sound, projection and lighting equipment. This position often requires evening and weekend work to support school events, both on and off-site. The Event Technology Coordinator reports to the Manager of Event Technology. 
     
  • PRN School Nurse

  • Cannon Substitute Teacher

    Cannon School is looking for Substitute Teachers for the 2020-21 school year. Cannon Substitutes are temporary educators who are responsible for operating a safe, orderly and positive classroom environment while the regular classroom teacher is absent. The substitute teacher must effectively manage the classroom and provide instruction for students following the regular teachers lesson plans. Substitutes can work in any one division or across all three for a maximum of 29 hours per week. Qualified candidates must have experience working with children in an academic, coaching or leadership capacity and a proven ability to manage a classroom. 
  • Middle School Boys Soccer Coach

    The Middle School Boys Soccer Head Coach is in charge of directing the boys middle school team under the supervision of the Program Director. An Athletic Coach at Cannon School is responsible for motivating and teaching Cannon School athletes in a mission-aligned program to compete at the highest level and represent Cannon School by living out Cannon’s core values.  The coach will work within the athletics department not only for the betterment of the boys soccer program, but to promote athlete participation in all sports.  
    This is a season stipend position.
