Cannon School plans to name its Upper School building after Davidson resident Matt Gossage. Trustees surprised Gossage with the news March 7 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, where 360 friends of the school celebrated raising more than $7.1 million for its capital campaign.

Estep, a prolific scorer who is headed to the Ivy League to play soccer, converted what was as close to an automatic goal as there is, and the Cougars won the nonconference match 2-1 at Cox Mill.
