CANNON SCHOOL SENIORS RECEIVE MORE THAN $6.2 MILLION IN MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
Graduating Students Accepted at Nation’s Top Colleges and Universities
The 87 members of Cannon School’s Class of 2009, who received their diplomas during a May 22 graduation ceremony at Cannon School’s campus, have received more than $6.2 million in merit-based scholarship funds for the next four years. Cannon's newest alumni were accepted at schools that best fit their unique talents and interests, including at some of the nation’s leading colleges and universities: Stanford University, UNC-Chapel Hill, Middlebury College, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Davidson College, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, Grinnell College, Tufts University, Brown University, Washington University in St. Louis, Wake Forest University, and others.
Cannon School devotes itself to academic excellence through a challenging curriculum that includes various Advanced Placement courses and a range of academic electives that prepare students for the rigors of college.
“The Class of 2009 has been successful in receiving wonderful offers from colleges to continue their education and growth,” says Anne Shandley, Cannon’s director of college counseling. “We are so proud of these young people as individuals and proud of their many accomplishments as a class.” |
