Lower School PE Teacher
We are currently seeking candidates for the 2016-2017 school year. This teacher will work closely with the Lower School PE team to create fun, engaging, and purposeful learning experiences to increase fitness levels, develop coordination, strengthen gross motor skills, and cultivate an understanding of team game fundamentals. He/She will also instill in children the importance of integrity, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for physical education, a sincere love of the young child, as well as be collaborative, a team-player, flexible, and possess the qualities inherent in our core values of courage, teamwork, kindness, integrity, respect and passion.
Education/Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or health/sports-related field, at least 2 years classroom experience, knowledge of SPARK curriculum preferred, but not required.


Long Term Substitute for Maternity Leave in Second Grade
 
We are currently seeking candidates for the 2016-2017 school year who would be willing to cover maternity leave for a second grade teacher. The long-term substitute teacher will work with the classroom assistant to instruct students in reading and reading strategies, writing, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, math, and social studies, while creating a positive, engaging and nurturing environment for learning. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in the elementary classroom, a natural aptitude for cultivating relationships with students and families, knowledge of differentiated instruction, and will also be flexible, collaborative, a team player, knowledgeable of child development, a lifelong learner, and possess a true love and passion for young children and their educational success. This candidate will also possess the qualities inherent in our core values of courage, teamwork, respect, integrity, kindness and passion.  
Education/Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related educational field. At least 2 years experience in an elementary classroom.


Interim Kindergarten Teacher
 
We are currently seeking candidates for the 2016-2017 school year. This interim Kindergarten Teacher position will be for one year. Director of Soccer (girls and boys)
Cannon School is searching for a Director of Soccer, which includes Head Varsity Coach for the boys program (fall sport) and the girls program (spring sport).  In addition to the Head Coach duties at the varsity level, the Director of Soccer also provides the vision and curriculum for the middle school and junior varsity programs.  The successful candidate is expected to have head coaching experience at the high school varsity level or beyond, and a demonstrated success at leading high school athletes to participate with intensity, character, courage, commitment, and excellent sportsmanship.  Cannon School competes in the CISAA athletic conference, and the 3A level of the NCISAA organization.   As part of the school’s excellent facilities and staff support, Cannon has a full-time Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and a state-of-the-art 4,100 square foot Strength and Conditioning Facility.  Applications should include: (1) a resume detailing educational, professional, coaching, and athletic experience, and (2) a cover letter discussing their interest in the position.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.  A bachelor’s degree is required for the position.  This is a seasonal stipend position.  Inquiries can be made to the Director of Athletics, Patrick Moyer at pmoyer@cannonschool.org.  Applications should be submitted to applicant@cannonschool.org   

Head Coach Varsity Girls Cheerleading
Cannon School is searching for a Head Coach of its varsity girls cheerleading program.  Girls cheerleading is a fall season with primary game responsibilities being home football games and nearby away football games at the discretion of the coach.  The successful candidate is expected to have coaching and cheerleading experience at the high school level or beyond.
