Cabarrus News: All-Cabarrus News basketball teams
3/17/2010
Cannon School senior Jarell Eddie is the Charlotte Observer All-Cabarrus Player of the Year.
Published by the Charlotte Observer (Cabarrus News), March 17, 2010 Player of the Year: Jarell Eddie, Cannon.
Jarell Eddie has done it all. In his Cannon School career, the 6-foot-6 guard/forward not only shattered the 2,000-point mark (in his junior season) but also led the Cougars to their best run as a team in school history.
"I think Jarell (Eddie) has taken his game to a new level every year (at Cannon)," said Cannon basketball coach Glen Taylor earlier this season.
For Eddie, a two-time all-state performer who will play basketball at Virginia Tech next season, the best may still be to come. Eddie, who averaged 23 points per game this season, was a consensus top 50 recruit and should be a future star for the Hokies. All-Cabarrus News basketball team Jarell Eddie, Cannon: Future Virginia Tech guard is first team all-state.
Keith Belfield, Cannon: Part of dynamic duo with Eddie, now must prove he can do it alone.
The teams were selected by the Cabarrus News sports writers based on individual accomplishments and team impact. |
