|Q. ||What are the school hours?|
The Junior Kindergarten and half-day kindergarten school day begins at 8:05 a.m. and ends at 12:15 p.m. Classes in full-day kindergarten through twelfth grades begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
|Q. ||What is the cost of tuition?|

*Tuition for our full-day kindergarten (beginning 2015-2016) will be posted in early 2015.
**The full-day option will have a tuition that is commensurate with the first-grade tuition, while the half-day option will remain on the same level as junior-kindergarten tuition.
|Q. ||Does Cannon School have any scholarships available?|
|A. ||Cannon School does not offer merit scholarships. However, we do have a robust need-based financial aid program administered through School and Student Services (SSS). Parents complete financial aid application information online and SSS calculates the family’s ability to pay tuition based on current income and assets. Cannon School’s Financial Aid Committee then uses that information to determine financial aid award amounts.|

Age four: By July 1 for Junior Kindergarten.
Age five: By July 1 for Kindergarten.

Cannon's Extended Day and After School Programs provide students with a comfortable, safe, and caring environment in which to participate in constructive activities during after school hours. Extended Day and After School Program offerings are available until 6:00 p.m. for students in Junior Kindergarten through eighth grade. There is an additional charge for these services, which can be used on an as-needed, drop-in basis.
|Q. ||Do Cannon School students wear uniforms?|
Students in Lower School (grades Junior Kindergarten-fourth) wear coordinated dress. These items are available for purchase in the Cougars' Den school store.
For fifth through twelfth grades, we have a dress code that emphasizes a clean, neat, and modest appearance.
|Q. ||Does Cannon School have a cafeteria?|
|A. ||Yes, our food service is provided by Aladdin Food Services. Hot entrees, salad, and other nutritious options are available every day in our Dining Hall.|
There is an additional fee for lunches.
|Q. ||Does Cannon School offer a bus service?|
|A. ||Yes, Cannon's 20 buses cover four counties with convenient pick-up points in the Concord, Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, University City, and Salisbury areas. Buses stop in The Point, The Peninsula, River Run, Skybrook, Highland Creek, North Stone, and numerous other neighborhoods.|

|Q. ||Does Cannon School offer a robust fine arts program?|
|A. ||Yes! Our students discover their individual creative spirits and voices in music, drama, dance, or visual arts.|
Junior Kindergarten through fourth grade students experience extensive art and music instruction by full-time instructors in large, light-filled studios.
The Middle School arts program begins in fifth and sixth grades with optional daily classes in chorus, strings, or band, as well as weekly visual art classes.
Fine arts are an integral part of an Upper School education. Students take a year-long arts course and are encouraged to take as many fine arts electives as ability and interest will allow.
|Q. ||Does Cannon School have a strong sports program?|
Cannon School is a member of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) and competes in the Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) with Charlotte Christian School, Charlotte Country Day School, Charlotte Latin School and Providence Day School.
Our athletic teams have won state and conference championships each year between 2001 and 2013 and our athletics program won the Wachovia Championship (now the Wells Fargo Championship) for the area's most successful program four times, including three consecutive years from 2000-2003.
Students in 7th grade and above can choose from a variety of athletic options including football, soccer, basketball, swimming, tennis, golf, cross country, track and field, volleyball, baseball, softball, lacrosse and cheerleading. Each season, at least one "no-cut" option is available. For younger students, we have programs available after school including Soccer for Tots and tennis clinics.
Well over half of Cannon students take advantage of the unique opportunity to experience an enjoyable athletic experience with curriculum crafted to honor the core values of Cannon School.
|Q. ||Does Cannon School teach world language and when does it start?|
|A. ||Yes, Spanish instruction begins in the first grade. French, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish are offered beginning in Middle School.|

|A. ||Call the Admission Office at 704-721-7199 or stop by any Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to Noon for a "Walk-In Wednesday" tour – no appointment necessary! If Wednesday mornings are not convenient, we will be glad to show you our campus at a time that works within your schedule.|

Complete an application form
and submit it with a $90 application fee. Once we have received this, we will be in touch to move forward with the rest of the process.
